San Diego San Miguel Branch

Richard Rettig (1929 — 2020)

Richard Rettig crossed the threshold on March 5, 2020 at 5:00 a.m. He was a founding member of our branch here in San Diego at Eastertide, 1989. The branch was begun with this resolve, which Richard was deeply committed to:

"We believe there are ways we could help one another in our respective anthroposophical endeavors -- and help the being Anthroposophia to incarnate more fully among us. We propose that, while maintaining our individual undertakings, we unite to form a San Diego Area Branch."

Manfred Hoehne

A dear friend and longtime Treasurer of the San Miguel San Diego Area Branch of the Anthroposophical Society in America crossed the threshold quietly on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 4:00 a.m. following an undetermined illness. He was a regular participant in the Monday night North County study group and often opened his home for studies by the group’s members. We shall miss not only his work as Treasurer, but his open heart and scientifically trained mind.

Jean Binder (1923 — 2012)

Jean Binder crossed the threshold on March 23rd, 2012 at the age of 89. She was born Jean Parham on Michaelmas 1923. Jean taught school in Connecticut, where she lived for many years before settling in San Diego County in Vista. In 1989, she helped co-found our San Diego Branch and was an active member for years, hosting many North County study groups at her home.
